SANTIAGO RODRIGUEZ, chair, has performed internationally with the leading
music groups of Europe and North America including the Guarneri Quartet and the Chamber Music
Society of Lincoln Center. He has also appeared as soloist with many of the world’s symphony
orchestras including the Dresden Staatskapelle, the Berliner Symphonie and the orchestras of
Houston, Chicago, St. Louis and Baltimore.

LITA GUERRA regularly tours North America and Europe as soloist and chamber
musician. She is currently a member of the faculty of the American Institute of Musical Studeis in Graz,
Austria and is recently retired from the music faculty of the University of Texas, Austin. Ms. Guerra records
for Educo records.

BORIS SLUTSKY has performed as recitalist and chamber musician throughout
North America, Asia and Europe. He has also been heard with many of the world’s most important
orchestras including the London Philharmonic, the Dresden Staatskapelle and the orchestras of Toronto,
Baltimore, Utah and Florida. Mr. Slutsky is the first Gold Medalist of the San Antonio International Piano
Competition (1988) to serve on the competition’s jury. Boris Slutsky is currently a member of the piano
faculty at Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore.

In addition to a busy international performance schedule, JEFFREY SWANN serves
as Artistic Director of Italy’s Dino Ciani Festival and Academy. In 2008, he was appointed Artist-in-Residence
at Northern Arizona University and in 2010 joined the piano faculty of New York University. Mr. Swann also
lectures regularly at the Wagner Festival in Bayreuth.

ILANA VERED is considered an international star of the first order. She has performed
as soloist with the world’s most important orchestras and conductors. Her long list of recordings include the
complete Beethoven Concerti with the Warsaw Philharmonic for ProArte Records and the concerti of Tchaikovsky,
Chopin and Rachmaninoff for London Records.

 

2012 Audition Committee Judges

In addition to a busy international performance scheudle, Argentinian pianist
EDUARDO DELGADO (Audition Committee Chair) has established a brilliant reputation as a pedagogue,
lecturer and artist teacher of master classes. His discography includes the recently recorded complete
solo piano works of Alberto Ginastera and a CD with tenor Jose Cura for Erato Records. Eduardo Delgado
is currently a member of the music faculty of California State University, Fullerton.

GUSTAVO ROMERO has appeared as soloist with many of the world’s leading orchestras
including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic and the English Chamber Orchestra. He has
also presented the complete cycle of Beethoven Sonatas on three continents. Mr. Romero serves as Professor
of Piano at the University of North Texas.

RICK ROWLEY has appeared extensively as a recitalist, concerto soloist and in chamber
music performances with some of the world’s leading musicians. He has made numerous CD recordings
for Summit Records, Premier Recordings and Round Top Records. Mr. Rowley is currently on the piano faculty
of the University of Texas, Austin.
