Competition Performance Requirements
The Competition will consist of the following rounds:
Preliminary Round:
Judging of recordings and selection of ten (10) semifinalists and five (5) alternates. Alternates will be expected to replace any semifinalist who is unable to participate in the Competition.
Repertoire:
An unedited live CD program of at least 40 minutes but not to exceed 50 minutes representing the pianist’s range of artistry; and
A recording of (a) a performance of a complete concerto with orchestra, or (b) a
performance with a chamber music group (piano quartet, quintet or larger).
Semifinal Round:
There will be a public performance of 45-50 minutes* by each of the ten semifinalists
Repertoire:
Competitor will perform a program of his or her own choice
Final Round:
There will be a public performance of 45-50 minutes* by each of the five finalists.
Repertoire:
Competitor will perform the Commissioned Work during this Round. The remainder of the program will be of Finalist’s own choice. Competitor may not repeat any work performed in the Semifinal Round.
*Remember that the time limit for each round includes both the time between movements and between compositions as well as the actual performance time of each composition.

Winners Recital
The Winners Recital will include a public performance by First, Second and Third Prize Winners in addition to the winner of the "Best Performance of the Commissioned Work." SAIPC may request winners of the other "Best Performance" categories to perform at this recital.
First Prize Winner will perform no longer than thirty (30) minutes actual playing time. Second and Third Prize Winners will perform no longer than twenty (20) minutes each.
